Two men have been fined $890 for exceeding the Pipi bag and vehicle possession limits at Canunda National Park, near Millicent.
A 46-year-old Victorian man from Dunkeld, a 38-year-old Allendale East man, and a youth were detected by Fisheries officers at Geltwood Beach with more than 1,200 pipis.
Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Tim Whetstone said fishers must remember a recreational bag limit of 300 pipis per person applied in the Limestone Coast region.
"Recreational fishers need to know the rules for the area they are fishing for pipis, as bag and possession limits vary across South Australia," he said.
State-wide vehicle possession limits also apply when three or more people are in a vehicle.
On the Limestone Coast, the maximum possession limit is 900 pipis per vehicle.
This detection comes off the back of an incident last year when two people were caught at the same location with 2,842 pipis weighing a total of almost 100 kilograms.
The offenders were prosecuted and received a penalty of nearly $17,000 in fines and court costs, and the fishing gear was seized and forfeited by the court.
Fisheries Officers have an increased patrol presence at Geltwood Beach following an increase in the number of fishers and rate of offending in the area.

Pipi measuring gauges can be collected from the Mount Gambier Fisheries Office or from Fisheries officers or Fishcare volunteers.
