Vinnies Australia is supporting farmers and farming communities who experienced the full force of the drought, adding that those hard hit deserve a break.
Farmers and businesses in drought impacted regions may be entitled to up to $2000 in cash and $1000 in vouchers or as a direct payment to local businesses, with the intent of the latter payment to retain spending in local communities on items of need extending from equipment parts or fodder from your local fodder store.
Applications for the funding close on June 9, so there is still time for households to make an application.
Criteria for applications is:
- One payment per household.
- You must derive your primary income from farm ownership, or as a farm worker or farm supplier/contractor.
- You must reside in one of the Local Government Areas in SA listed in the weblink below. Most of the Eyre Peninsula, excluding Cummins, is covered in the listing.
- You must NOT have received the Federal Government's 'Drought Community Support Initiative' (DCSI) stream of funding from another organisation.
If you can tick-off these four criteria... apply!
