ON Monday, animal activists stormed several east coast abattoirs and stopped peak hour traffic in Melbourne.
Staged to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the release of the film Dominion, the actions frustrated Melbourne commuters and were widely condemned by politicians and ag representatives.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison labelled the invasion of farms and processing facilities "shameless", while VIc Agriculture Minister Jaclyn Symes believed activists' actions were "undermining their own cause".
