Ewe lines from quality stud bloodlines made the Jamestown sheep market's top price on Thursday, with a pen of Mernowie-bloods making $204.
There were 3700 sheep yarded and Landmark Jamestown Don Cullen said he was pleased to see quality sheep offered by vendors, despite the market being held slightly earlier than usual.
Making the highest price of $204 for 4.5-year-old ewes was NW,BA,BS,&MK Groves, Booleroo Centre, for their 200 September/October 2014-drop Mernowie-blds that were sold to Elders Roseworthy.
The March-shorn ewes were scanned in lamb to Ulandi Park Poll Dorset rams.
The second -highest price of $189 for 5yo ewes was paid for 80 North Ashrose/Collinsville-blds from Millarbor Farming Trust and sold to Elders Jamestown.
The final young ewe line from Lee Ballentyne sold to Elders Cowell and topped the section at $180 for 66 June/July 2017-drop Lines Gum Hill/ Hamilton Run-blds.
The second-highest price of $170 was made by ND Simpson, Jamestown, for 80, 1.5yo Bradfield-blds.
DA&SC Keatley, made $166 for their 134, June/July 2017-drop SIL Glenville-blds that were sold to Elders Cowell.
A line of 147 3yo ewes Moorundie-bld ewes from RL&LK Cummins made $164 and were sold to Elders Streaky Bay.
The ewe lamb section topped at $146 for 200 Morley-blds from ADS&JLS Major.
Crossbred lambs topped at $140 for 41 lambs from ND&AM Sleep and the second-highest price of $139 was paid for 168 White Suffolk-Merinos from L&M Clapp that were sold to Elders Gladstone.
RL&LK Cummins also made $139 for their 20 XBL Moorundie-blds.
The same vendor topped the wether section at $134 for their 16, Morrundie Park-blds that were sold to Thomas Foods International.
