Export lambs to $212
Merinos to $177
LAMBS were $10 dearer, depending on quality, at the Ouyen Livestock Exchange in Vic today, while heavy sheep sold $10 to $20 dearer.
Export crossbred lambs made $173 to $212, or $6 a kilogram to $6.80/kg, while trade types made $139-$173, or $6.30-$7/kg.
Making the $212 top price were Hulland, Patchewollock, with 69 lambs, ALB Farming, Tempy, with 79 lambs and G&L Bate, Mildura, with 83 lambs.
R&F Dalton, Tempy, sold 92 crossbred lambs at $207, while ERF, Torrita, sold 108 lambs at $203.
Store lambs made $32-$126; light Merinos sold from $106-$146, while heavies made $148-$177, or $6.10-$6.40/kg.
Munro Brothers, Ouyen, sold 90 heavy Merinos at the $177 top.
Light mutton made $52-$126, or $4.20-$4.70/kg, while heavies were $117-$168, or $3.60-$5/kg.
Tameleuca, Kulwin, sold 52 heavy mutton at $168 top, while MUT, Tempy, sold 55 heavy mutton at $161 and M Burns, Tempy, sold 44 mutton at $160.
Dorper lambs were also offered, with Hulland again making the top price of $180 for 251 head, while MGN Gibbons, Galah, received $164 for 40 Dorpers, and M&C Heintze, Murrayville, sold 66 at $162.
