The second day of the It's Ewe Time forums in SA was held in Karoonda on Wednesday, attracting about 40 producers, consultants and industry members from across the state.
The forums, which were also held in Victoria and New South Wales, are a joint initiative of Meat & Livestock Australia and Australian Wool Innovation and aim to deliver practical tools and information for those involved in the industry.
AWI general operations manager Nigel Goss opened the forum by providing a brief insight into the market outlook for the sheepmeat and wool sectors.
Other speakers on the day included University of Adelaide's Colin Trengove, who presented best health management strategies for tackling common sheep diseases, and Holmes Sackett's Hilary Beech, who talked through decision making strategies to assist with coping with the drought.
Additional topics discussed included weaner health and ewe performance.
Forums were also run in Jamestown on Tuesday and Naracoorte on Thursday, and will conclude in Armidale, NSW, next week.
