If you want to experience a day out with a difference, you need to add Agfest to your 2019 agenda. More than just your average agricultural and machinery event, this field day expo delivers the perfect combination of product displays, live music and local food and drink.

Now in its 37th year, Agfest is recognised as one of Australia's top three field day events, and it's easy to see why. Injecting millions of dollars into the local economy annually, the event offers the perfect (scenic) meeting ground for companies and organisations to connect with members of the public.

This successful style of direct marketing benefits not only business owners, but also customers, allowing both parties to foster stronger relationships that in turn strengthen the future of the Tasmanian agricultural industry.

When asked about what makes the event so popular, Agfest Media & Promotions Manager Dylan Bellchambers said that their commitment to exhibiting Tasmanian businesses, in tandem with their dedication to bringing in what the state does not have to offer, had a lot to do with the event's appeal.

Run by Rural Youth Tasmania volunteers, the organisational model of the event also allows its managers to stay attuned to the wants of the local community. As such, Agfest is a one-of-a-kind event that benefits the community on multiple levels.

"The organising of Agfest not only supports the agricultural community and Tasmania, it also provides a unique opportunity for swift personal growth and leadership training for the volunteers that run the event. In addition, the profits from Agfest are reinvested into the event and enable the self-funding of Rural Youth Tasmania and its programs," Mr Bellchambers said.

This year's event will welcome a host of new attractions, including the greatly anticipated Food Truck Park. A first for the field days, this area will host 10 food vans in a central location, offering everything from classic pies, burgers and chips to the finest culinary cuisine for patrons to enjoy.

The debut of the truck shop spot in 2019 also marks 100 years of Mack Trucks in Australia, which will see Webster Trucks paying tribute to the trucking industry and the truck drivers that have helped to shape the nation.

The field day's standard attractions, including the MAST Agfest Boat Show, Beef Expo & Junior Livestock Handlers Competition, and Working Sheep Dog Trials are also set to return bigger and better than ever, in particular the Woolworths Equine Expo.

"The ultimate equestrian experience keeps getting bigger. In 2019 it will feature a full program of exciting demonstrations, in particular the purpose-built arena will see International Show Jumper Deon Williams and Horsemanship master Adam Sutton wowing the crowds," Mr Bellchambers said.

In 2019 the Junior Livestock Handlers are also set to return after a highly successful run in 2018, but this year the competition has grown to include dairy and sheep as well as beef cattle.

Patrons will be able to catch all the action at the TJM Tasmania Central Arena, where the participating junior livestock trainers will be showcasing their skills in both handling and judging classes.

"The revitalised Junior Farmer Challenge will put students' agriculture skills to the test," Mr Bellchambers said.

No matter who you are, Agfest is the kind of event that offers a little something for everyone, from its incredible displays of machinery, to its live performances, and its impressive array of food and drink.

Agfest is the perfect opportunity to improve your land and support your local community simultaneously, while having a great time with family and friends. It doesn't get much better than that.

"There really is something for everyone at Agfest, whether you have never stepped foot on a farm or you live and breathe agriculture, we guarantee you will find something at Agfest 2019," Mr Bellchambers said.

This year Agfest will be held on 2, 3, and 4 May. For more information on the event and early bird ticket prices visit www.agfest.com.au
