A LARGE crowd of dairyfarmers from throughout SA met at The Bend at Tailem Bend for the DairySA Central Conference.
The audience had the chance to hear about setting calves up for maximise production, irrigation efficiencies and the latest machinery.
They also received an update into the five year Dairy Feedbase project and its work in improving the pasture availability and grazing habits of cows.
DairySA chair Michael Connor said this year had been "tough as hell" for those in the industry.
"It's affected people right across the board," he said.
"It's not easy to stay positive and it can be hard to focus on the basics in the business.
"(This event) is about a look at what is in our control."
