The goal is always to get better with each event, according to South East Field Days chairman Trevor Martin.
New attractions, special events and displays and ensuring the standard of Field Days favourites are maintained with each event is the key to achieving that goal.
And the work to do so is ongoing, with upgrades to grounds and facilities also a big part of the plan.
Mr Martin, in the Field Days Chairman’s role since June bring up to 14 years experience involved in the popular event, and even has stall holder insight to the experience, his popular Smiley’s Garden Furniture on show at the event.
“We keep on improving things at the Field Days and keep up the items of interest and events,’’ Mr Martin said.
“The flying pigs are back this year and the big fish tank attracts a lot of attention too.
“It had been a bit of a slow start for stall and site holders, with a bit of a lull a month ago, but the numbers are definitely getting up now.
“It’s been a pretty good season down here and we expect the usual high interest for the Field Days.’’
Mr Martin said the organising committee had been looking to inject some youth into the running of the event and they had been pleased by the offer of help from sporting clubs.
“The site is looking good. The clientele like it because its green and we have put a few trees in for shelter, and the dust problem of the past has been addressed,’’ he said.
“There’s been a number of general improvements which will keep the crowds and the site holders happy, particularly as it is still one of the cheapest Field Days to be involved in.’’
