More than 300 people turned out to Calcannia's clearing sale this week, witnessing the final chapter in the Hawker family's 177-year association with the Mid North property.
The 905 hectares, which was originally part of Bungaree Station, was sold at auction for $11.65 million in early November, setting a new price per hectare record for the Clare area.
It was sold by Andrew Hawker and will settle next week to new owners the Sparks family, Munduney, Spalding.
Ray White Rural SA joint principal Geoff Schell, who conducted the auction and the clearing sale, said the major items sold extremely well to close to 200 registered bidders.
This included a New Holland 8360 tractor with Quicke 695 front end loader which had done about 6000 hours, making $36,000.
Historical gems including a 1927 Hillman car with additional parts, in need of restoration, which was bought for $500 by a museum and a two shaft horse drawn buggy which made $280 to a local Clare horsewoman.
"It would have been a hard decision for Andrew to sell but it has been an outstanding result," Mr Schell said.
