Today is the final day for regional communities to nominate for the South Australian Agricultural Town of the Year accolade.
The inaugural award will recognise towns with significant involvement in primary industries, including agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
This provides a great opportunity to showcase the industry achievements of our regional South Australian towns.

Extending beyond farming, the award aims to acknowledge all aspects of the wider community that contribute to the industry, including service providers, shops and regional events and activities.
Primary Industries Minister Tim Whetstone said the award was an excellent way to celebrate the role of agriculture in regional communities.
“This provides a great opportunity to showcase the industry achievements of our regional South Australian towns to a wide audience locally, nationally and internationally,” he said.
The criteria for the award is based on the ability of towns to demonstrate agricultural excellence, with the overarching goal of growing primary industries and driving regional development.
Nominations need to outline how towns meet this criteria, in statements of 250 words or less.
The inaugural winner of the award will be presented at the South Australian Regional Showcase celebration evening, to be held in October.
