Landholders are encouraged to participate in Natural Resources SA Murray-Darling Basin baiting program that will kick off on Thursday, February 21.
Natural Resources SAMDB district officer Russell Norman said foxes were a significant pest that have a large impact on agriculture and the environment through predation, the spread of weed seeds, damage to infrastructure and the spread of diseases.
“Individual landholders are encouraged to participate in the upcoming baiting program to maximise the positive benefits of a coordinated group approach and achieve a significant reduction in foxes,” he said.
“Managing the impact of foxes on the local landscape is most successful when neighbours coordinate a baiting program.”
