THERE were 6744 lambs and 1803 mutton on offer for a total yarding of 8547 at Ouyen, Vic, yesterday.
The first sale of 2019 had prices making similar money to other auctions.
Export crossbred lambs made $140 to $200 or $5.40 a kilogram to $6/kg, trades from $100-$160 or $5.50-$6.10/kg and stores/light types from $35-$110 or $4-$7.50/kg.
Topping the market was G Vine, Ouyen, with 32 crossbreds at $200.
Other crossbred sellers were B&M Young, Lameroo, with 132 at $185; DJ Kay, Ouyen, 105 at $174 and 104 at $171; H&M Crothers, Underbool, Vic, 28 at $172; Clarke Brothers, Ouyen, 82 at $172; S Boschert, Tempy, Vic, 48 at $167; D Stone, Underbool, 28 at $165; Towk, Walpeup, Vic, 135 at $164 and Halls Farms, Mittyack, Vic, 104 at $152.
Light Merinos made $31-$95 and heavies $100-$128.
Looking at mutton, light types made $45-$76 or $2.50-$3/kg and heavies $95-$110 or $2.60-$3.10/kg.
Mutton sellers included B Graham, Murrayville, Vic, 60 at $112 and S Boschert, 78 at $110.
The next scheduled Ouyen sale is on Thursday, February 21.
