QUALITY genetics went on show to many of the state’s interested commercial and stud breeders across the four days for Stock Journal’s Beef Week.

In a sign of the positive season in that part of the state, there was good interest, with several clients travelling from interstate and the West Coast to view the animals.

In all 67 studs in the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula, Adelaide Hills, Riverland, Fleurieu Peninsula and South East opened their farmgates to display 14 breeds, including Angus, Murray Grey, Droughtmaster, South Devon, Santa Gertrudis, Limousin, Lowlines, Shorthorn, Charolais, Speckle Park, Simmental, Red Angus, Poll Hereford and Lim-Flex.

Many stud principals reported good inquiry as they opened their farmgates to show their selected genetics to potential clients.

Some studs achieved sales on the day, while others use it as a chance to showcase breeding stock, progeny or preview bull and female offerings ahead of upcoming on-property sales.

Stock Journal’s CATHERINE MILLERELIZABETH ANDERSON, PAULA THOMPSON, CLAIRE HARRIS, VANESSA BINKS, ALISHA FOGDEN, JACQUI BATEMAN and MARK SCOWN were out capturing the action.
