THE Jamestown sheep market that was planned for Thursday, January 17, has been cancelled due to lack of numbers.
Agents advise that if numbers do become available, a sale will be run and they will endeavour to contact people by email, or the Elders and Landmark Facebook page.
At this stage, the next sale will be held on Thursday, February 21, starting at 1pm.
Future market dates are March 21, April 11, May 23, June 20, July 18 and August 22.
There was good demand for the tops of the offering at the final Jamestown sheep market of last year, but secondary types suffered from lack of buyers. Wether lambs made to $140, while crossbred lambs and ewe lambs also made to the same price.
