THE annual Cherry Ball was held at the Adelaide Convention Centre recently, attended by nearly 450 people.
The white-themed event raised $212,245 for Camp Quality, which included $23,000 paid for a five-kilogram box of new-season cherries.
Donated by Costa Farms, the auction item was bought by Roy and Joan Schirripa, West Lakes, who were then crowned Cherry Ball King and Queen, while the night’s Cherry Prince and Princess were eight-year-old Levi O’Donogue and nine-year-old Jazmyn Mitchell.
Jazmyn was diagnosed with a stage 4 Neuroblastoma at age seven, while Levi was the same age when his 2.5-year-old sister Maddie was also diagnosed with a stage 4 Neuroblastoma.
Other auction items included a dinner with Power players, Directors Club tickets at the Superloop Adelaide 500 and boxes of fruit and vegetables donated by generous growers from the Pooraka Markets.
In its 21st year, the Cherry Ball has raised more than $3 million for families impacted by cancer.
