The Crop Protection Forum for 2018 was held at Glenelg today, with industry representatives and graingrowers attending sessions that were led by some of Australia’s top experts in pest and disease management.
Themed Riders of the Storm of Resistance, the program was led with Centre for Crop and Disease Management researcher Fran Lopez-Ruiz who discussed fungicide resistance and the best tool available for growers.
Cesar researcher James Maino addressed the hot topic of predicting insecticide resistance and risk, while Paul Umina, also from Cesar, discussed the rise of redlegged earth mite resistance in southern Australia.
The future of Genetically Modified and hybrid technologies to control weeds was presented by Perth-based Australian Herbicide Resistance Initiative’s Dr Hugh Beckie.
