GREETINGS from Tasmania. The Apple Isle has again been receiving welcome rains across the spring period and we have been fortunate enough to have been in a position to be able to assist our mainland counterparts and purchase numbers of livestock to make the journey across Bass Straight to find greener pastures.
Our hats go off to all involved in the process of transporting livestock across the water from the agents involved in assessing or marketing the livestock, the vendors/breeders of their livestock and preparing them for transport and the transport operators for their care and diligence in ensuring the safe and humane journey that these livestock take in order to see green grass again.
With livestock agents taking advantage of the many marketing options available and the availability to promote livestock from one end of the country to the other and provide images, videos, weights, description and health status these tools are truly adding value to the breeders and clients that entrust their commodities with their local agents to market and ensure their funds are in safe hands.
With the lamb marketing season in full swing and weaner cattle sales just around the corner, talk to your local agent about the marketing opportunities that are available to promote your livestock to the best advantage. Our thoughts go out to everyone experiencing drought conditions and we all hope some welcome relief will be on its way very soon.
