IT has been a slow start to the 2018 grain harvest, with a little over 258,000 tonnes delivered to Viterra's silo system so far.
But, header activity has ramped up, with only 50,000t delivered to the system before this week.
Viterra has received grain into 44 sites so far this harvest. The majority of deliveries have been barley and there have also been deliveries of wheat, canola, lentils, field peas and faba beans.
Western region receivals so far are 44,463t, with Elliston, Buckleboo, Port Lincoln, Warramboo and Wirrulla all opened for their first receivals.
The central region has received 210,056t. The main volume is through the early receival areas around Port Pirie to Bowmans, and across the top of the Yorke Peninsula.
In the eastern region receivals has been 3360t but they have started to increase as Apamurra, Loxton, Monarto South, Murray Bridge and Inner Harbour have all received their first loads.
