IAN Carr, Castle Camps, Keith, topped AuctionPlus’s national lamb sale for the second year in a row recently.
Mr Carr sold 390 second-cross sucker lambs, sired by White Suffolk rams and out of Border Leicester-Merino ewes, averaging 38 kilograms, for $151.
Last week, sheep numbers continued to rise online with 110,852 head listed, up 9792 on the previous week’s numbers. A huge 754 unique registered users logged in across the four sales, with activity coming from processors and restockers. The lamb sale totalled 48,526 head and had 82 per cent clearance. The highest bidding activity came from NSW, where bidders purchased 45pc of the lots sold.
First-cross Border Leicester-Merino ewe hoggets sold from $160 to $286 online, averaging $213. A line of 69kg hoggets from BH&L Loller, Keith, reached the top price, with the buyer from Bordertown.
