WOOL producers and industry representatives from across SA flocked to Anlaby Station yesterday for an exhibition titled 'This is Wool'.
The exhibition featured a curated selection of International Woolmark Prize garments.
The International Woolmark Prize celebrates outstanding fashion talents from around the globe who showcase the beauty and versatility of Merino wool.
The Woolmark Prize was first launched in 1953.
The following year, two of fashion’s most celebrated names – Karl Lagerfeld and Yves St Laurent won prizes.
Mr Lagerfeld, then only 21, won the coat category while Mr St Laurent, aged 18, won the best dress design, before a panel which included Hubert de Givenchy and Pierre Balmain.
Since that time, the prize has featured many of the fashion industry’s brightest designers.
Anlaby Station, near Kapunda, has hosted International Woolmark Prize exhibitions for the past four years.
