FARMERS are encouraged to share their views on access to the Farm Household Allowance with a review to be held in Adelaide next Wednesday.
SA Senator Anne Ruston said it would be an invaluable opportunity to raise thoughts and concerns first-hand.
“There’s no better way to find out if something works than to ask the people who use it,” Ms Ruston said.
“The panel wants to hear from farming families, advisors and support networks such as accountants, agricultural advisers and agronomists before they provide their recommendations to government in the first half of 2019.
The FHA provides assistance for farmers facing hardship, particularly during drought.
Since its launch in 2014, the federal government has invested more than $230 million to help nearly 8000 farmers.
In addition to face-to-face consultations, there is also a public submission process at haveyoursay.agriculture.gov.au/fha-review-2018.
