Australian Grain Technologies officially opened its $20-million crop breeding centre on Tuesday, September 25, at Roseworthy and gave visitors unprecedented access to its new facility that will spur Australia’s agriculture industry forward for new farming generations to come.
The Minister for Primary Industries Tim Whetstone opened the centre and said that it will help create a profitable future for growers, by developing new field crop varieties that are more productive, better quality and cost less to grow.
AGT chief executive officer Haydn Kuchel said seeing the centre come to fruition was a tremendous achievement reached by everyone involved and he hoped it would cement Australia’s ability to compete in international markets.
