THE record lamb price at Ouyen, Vic, was broken on Thursday last week, reaching $290.

There were 5112 sucker lambs, 4968 old lambs and 4308 mutton offered, for a total yarding of 14,388.

The run of mutton was also impressive with prices up $20 on the previous market. 

Making the top sucker price was N Hamilton, Ouyen, with a line of 67. The same vendor also sold a line of 35 at $260.

Drawing in the second-highest price was TP&SJ Monaghan, Tempy, Vic, with 29 at $284. The same vendor also sold a further 30 at $272.

Export sucker lambs made from $150 to $290 or $7-$8.60/kilogram and trades went from $170-$238 or $8.60-$9.40/kg.

SA sucker lambs came in from CP&JM Fisher, Bugle Hut, with 80 at $224.

Other sucker lambs sellers were BA&TM Jolly, Speed, Vic, with 22 at $236, J&M Shean, Tempy, 25 at $226 and N Vallance, Ouyen, 44 at $218.

Charmic Ag, Mantung, sold 100 crossbred lambs at $268.

Vic lamb sellers included B Morrish, Tiega, 52 at $250 and 33 at $226, and GW Pickering, Kulwin, 78 at $238.

DS&CM O’Shannessy, Walpeup, Vic, sold 65 lambs at $236 and 43 at $235.

Other Vic lamb sellers were L&R Stone, Torrita, 74 at $229 and Erhardt Partners, Galah, 40 at $228.

Lameroo sellers included Altus Pastoral, with 35 Merino lambs at $169 and Pudney Farms, with 61 Dorper lambs at $186.

Selling Merino lambs was H Flanner, Ouyen, with 103 at $169.

Light mutton sold from $60-$95 or $4-$4.60/kg and heavies from $95-$164 or $3.80-$4.50/kg. Mutton sellers included Downdale, Speed, with 36 at $164, and J Hahnel Nominees, Timberoo, Vic, 76 at $158.
