MAJOR rural insurer MGA Whittles group has put its support behind Australian farmers with a $30,000 donation from its foundation.
The donation, made to Rotary of St Peters president Brian Kretschmer, will be included in a fundraising effort, in partnership with Channel 9 and the National Farmers’ Federation, which has so far collected more than $4.4 million.
The funds will then be distributed, as needed, through the NFF networks, Mr Kretschmer said.
“We know farmers are the lifeblood of the community and if we don’t all pitch in and do something, we’ll regret it before too long,” he said.
MGA Whittles Group chairman John George said the company had always been a strong supported of the rural community, with a number of clients in SA and interstate.
The funds come from the MGA Whittles Foundation, which is supported by some 550 employees.
