Local graingrowers are being reminded of an upcoming post-seeding and grains research, development and extension forum at Kapinnie on June 26.
The forum will provide growers with the opportunity to discuss and have input into their industry’s RD&E investments.
It will also enable GRDC staff and members of the GRDC’s southern regional cropping solutions network and southern regional panel to listen to growers and discuss regionally relevant investments, activities and opportunities.
Outcomes from the GRDC’s stubble initiative will also be discussed, and the management of weeds, insects and chemical resistance in retained stubble systems.
The Lower Eyre agricultural development association and the GRDC will host the forum at the Cummins Kapinnie football and netball clubrooms from 1pm.
Leading the discussions on this topic will be University of Adelaide researcher Chris Preston and SARDI entomologist Kym Perry.
Following afternoon tea, a paddock and seeding inspection will be conducted on the property of Billy Pedler. The forum will conclude with a dinner at 6pm.
