IT is less than 20 days until Country of Origin labelling will be mandate on products sold off supermarket shelves.
From July 1, products will legally be required to display country of origin labelling information.
Federal agricultural minister David Littleproud said it was great news for consumers and companies.
“Companies which source their products from Australia will be able to display it loud and proud and reap the rewards,” he said.
“Aussies want to support Aussie farmers, and soon they’ll have the chance.”
Mr Littleproud said country of origin labelling should not just stop at the supermarket, and consumers should get the chance to support Australian farmers in other marketplaces as well.
