The inaugural Clare Valley Mother’s Day Classic was held at the Richardson Park Playspace at Sevenhill on Sunday with more than 200 participants coming from as far away as Alice Springs, NT, to raise money for National Breast Cancer Foundation research projects.
The Sevenhill Country Women’s Association organised the event with coordinator Alex Nicholls saying she was very pleased with the great turnout.
In particular, she thanked major sponsor Richard Elkhoury’s Terry White Chemist in Clare, for his support.
Altogether more than 100,000 people, at 87 events, gathered to walk all over breast cancer.
Participants had the choice of a four kilometre walk, a 4km run or an 8km run.
