TEYS Australia has celebrated Beef 2018 in fine style with a major cocktail party to thank suppliers and friends on Thursday night.
The event featured plenty of delicious beef dishes including mouth watering slow cooked beef ribs and sliders.
Teys Australia chief executive officer Brad Teys said the processing sector was in a period of rapid transformation, driven by the need to shift to value based marketing.
“It really is a supply chain business,” Mr Teys said.
“The first step is getting more information back to the producer and begin paying for value based marketing, so producers can improve the quality of their cattle.
“If we can improve quality or increase yield we are going to put more dollars in your pockets.
“A 1 per cent improvement in carcase yield will result in a revenue increase of $30 to $50.”
“That’s why we’re going down this road of DEXA. Producers can see what part of their herd might need improvement.”
