Crossbred lambs to $185
Merinos to $147
THERE were 5662 lambs and 1006 mutton sold at Ouyen, Vic, on Thursday last week, for a total yarding of 6668.
All lamb types were $5 to $15 cheaper, while mutton was up to $5 dearer.
Export crossbred lambs made from $152-$185 or $5 a kilogram to $5.50/kg, while trades went for $118-$150 of $5.30-$5.70/kg.
Topping the market with crossbred lambs was N Hamilton, Ouyen, with 51 at $185.
Making the second highest price at $181 was G Vine, Ouyen, with 54 crossbreds.
BA Jolly, Speed, Vic, sold 22 crossbreds at $166, and N Woods, Iraak, had 29 at the same price.
Both selling crossbred lambs for $155 were W&R Matthews, Meringur, Vic, with 45, and PD&LM Symonds, Loxton, with 29.
P Hand, Pinnaroo, had 49 crossbreds at $152, Erhardt Partners, Galah, Vic, sold 20 at $150, and Daalkolyn, Underbool, Vic, had 21 at $146.
Store lambs made from $25-$111.
Light Merino types made $80-$120.
Heavy Merinos went from $133-$147 or $5.20-$5.60/kg.
Selling Merino lambs was Why Gee Pastoral, Karoonda, 89 at $152, B&R Eatts, Loxton, 94 at $150, TJ Kowald, Karoonda, with 72 at $147 and S&H Grant, Kulwin, Vic, 40 at $125.
Light mutton made from $66-$106 or $4-$4.30/kg and heavies made up to $145, fetching between $4-$4.50/kg.
Mutton sellers included Annichol Ridge, Lameroo, with 41 at $146, Lone Pine, Sea Lake, Vic, 72 at $145, P Hand, 23 at $144, DJ&G Gairns, Pirlta, Vic, 32 at $140 and RJ Lynch, Patchewollock, Vic, 59 at $133.
Selling Dorper lambs were T&M Crozier, Wargan, Vic, with 30 at $124, and Koralta Station, Little Topar, NSW, with 38 at $118.
The next scheduled sale is Thursday, May 3.
