THE rain held off long enough to draw a good crowd through the gates on the first day of the two-day biennial Kapunda Farm Fair.
As well as featuring a wide range of machinery for both the broad-acre and horticulture sectors, there was a wide range of general interest stands.
Two baby alpacas at the Wamowie Alpacas, Salters Springs, stand drew attention, as well as a miniature goat that had done itself a mischief by getting too close to a calf, but was still managing to get around the fair thanks to a cast on its healing broken leg.
The fashion parades put on by the Kapunda Musical Society brought in the crowds, along with entertainment from the Ukapandas Ukelele Group.
Other attractions included vintage machinery, blacksmithing and face painting.
