Crossbred lambs to $191
MUTTON sold to dearer rates and topped at $148 at the Ouyen, Vic, Livestock Exchange on Thursday.
There were 3620 lambs and 618 mutton sold for a total yarding of 4238.
Lamb prices generally eased by $5 to $10, with the returns coming back due to the quality of the lambs dropping off. Better quality lambs were not as affected, price-wise.
Export crossbred lambs sold from $145-$191 or $5.30/kg-$5.70/kg, trades sold from $110-$148 or $5.60/kg-$6.10/kg and store made from $56-$114.
M.U.T, Tempy, Vic, topped the market with 22 crossbreds at $191, while Waymel, Ouyen, sold 58 at $188.
Other crossbred lamb sellers included P Hand, Pinnaroo, 55 at $182, and Hall Farms, Mittyack, Vic, 31 at $170.
Pinnaroo vendor D Daniel sold 36 crossbred lambs at $175 and 41 at $149.
Also selling crossbreds were S Boschert, Tempy, 37 at $169, D Crane, Murrayville, Vic, 23 at $150 and Marshall Partners, Ouyen, 31 at $146.
Light Merinos made from $ 52-$100 or $5.60/kg-$5.80/kg.
Merino lambs came in from Lone Pine Pastoral, Sea Lake, Vic, with 31 at $138 and BF Gowers, Carwarp, Vic, with 84 at $135.
Light mutton sold from $30-$ 86 or $3.90/kg-$4.20/kg and heavies $112-$148, averaging $4.30/kg.
P Hand topped the mutton section at $148, while RM&S Pocock, Lameroo, sold 42 at $144.
Also selling mutton were D Gairns, Pirlta, Vic, with 11 at $140 and Mallee Produce, Pinnaroo, with 32 at $132.
Selling Dorper lambs was Cowra Station, Yelta, Vic, with 45 at $136.
