THE Ag Excellence Alliance held their 13th annual forum and awards in Adelaide today.
Each year the event serves as an opportunity for grower groups to get together and share ideas and knowledge.
With about two-thirds of SA’s farmers belonging to a grower group, the Ag Excellence Alliance serves as a central communication and events platform.
Some of the alliance’s key aims are to advocate for grower groups to industry and government and pursue collaborative project development and delivery.
One of the speakers at this year’s forum was Meat & Livestock Australia research, development and innovation general manager Sean Starling, who spoke about cutting edge strategies to increase the profitability and sustainability of the red meat industry.
Joining the forum via Skype from Samoa was New Zealand organisation Red Meat Profit Partnership project manager Melonie Sheppard, who spoke about innovation in extension.
