TEAM Te Mania members, including Wellington Lodge at Tailem Bend, will be offering 960 quality breeding females in an online female sale through AuctionsPlus on Friday, April 13, at 11am.
Females will be on offer from some of the best-known commercial Angus breeders across NSW, Vic and SA.
“This year’s sale is the largest offering of cows since the Team Te Mania feature female sales began in 2005, reflecting the intensive breeding that has gone in to the evolution of the program,” Team Te Mania’s Hamish McFarlane said.
Team Te Mania is a national alliance of progressive beef producers who are testing and utilising the best practices in beef production and sharing the latest genetics from the same performance-based gene pool.
Members are given advance access to the latest genetics of Te Mania Angus to further advance the overall genetic performance of their herds, while Te Mania Angus benefits from vital production feedback to further fine-tune the genetic program.
“The vendor herds are all well recognised for high growth, high marbling and sound structure, and are regular suppliers to Rangers Valley Feedlot for the long-fed (270 day) program. The cattle are proven performers and will help accelerate the performance of the new buyer’s herds,” Mr McFarlane said.
“Demand for Team Te Mania cattle continues to grow, matching its increasing production as the pursuit of livestock which comply with premium export and domestic beef branded schemes – schemes that require a highly marbled product every time – continues to increase,” he said.
Mr McFarlane said the online sale will feature pregnancy-tested in-calf females and cows with calves at foot and they were all Te Mania Angus-blood and/or PTIC to Te Mania Angus bulls.
Some cattle are Angus commercial registered with estimated breeding values available.
The online sale is interfaced with AuctionsPlus, which Mr McFarlane said allowed people from all across the country to participate and meant cattle can be held on vendor properties until sold.
A freight subsidy of $15/head will be paid by Team Te Mania direct to successful purchasers, who purchase in the sale or within 24 hours of the sale.
To be able to bid, purchasers will need to register with AuctionsPlus at least 48 hours prior to the sale.
