WEATHER across the next three months remains a mystery with the Bureau of Meteorology modelling showing no strong indications towards wetter or drier conditions.
In the outlook for April to June, BOM senior hydrologist Robert Pipunic said Australia’s major climate drivers, La Nina and the tropical pacific trends had “decayed”, leaving the El Nino Southern Oscillation in neutral.
Conditions in the Indian Ocean are also neutral.
“This means there is no strong indication towards broadscale wetter or drier conditions across much of the country,” he said.
Dr Pipunic said there was some likelihood of wetter than average conditions in the south eastern corner of Australia.
He said the same region was also likely to have warmer than average days.
Overnight, temperatures are likely to be warmer than average in southern Australia and cooler than average in northern Australia for the three month period.
