These sheep were among the 400 rams offered and sold at Penola. Top price for the sale was 100 gns in Elder, Smith & Co's catalogue for a Suffolk ram from the Allendale, Bordertown stud of AE May and Sons. The buyer was JR May jnr, Tailem Bend.

GC Kay, Tungkillo, is seen at the Mount Pleasant stud beef cattle sale, where he bought the foundations for his new Poll Hereford stud. He is shown with Moon Hills Satchmo, the top-=price bull at the sale.

Eyre Peninsula breeders of commercial Merino sheep at a sheepbreeders' gathering and field day at Ungarra included R Telfer, R Pugsley, R Webb, all of Ungarra, with Cummins visitor D Nagel.

Victorian buyers attended the Elders Millicent district off-shears sale and spotted was G Wynne, Elder, Smith & Co, Warracknabeal, K McQueen and N McQueen, also of Warracknabeal, examining some of the sheep they purchased.

During the Warooka hogget competition, Ken and Arthur Murdoch and Bob Sadler, all of Warooka, were spotted watching on.

Stud beef breeders seen taking interest in the judging of the State Beef Carcase Contest at the Gepps Cross Abattoirs this year were Phil Withers and EJ Withers from Nalpa, via Strathalbyn, J Parker, Old Canowie, Hallett, and TE Ashby, Bundaleer, Gulnare.
