A Far North fire burning through the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands has burnt more than 125,000 hectares.

A Far North fire burning through the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands has burnt more than 125,000 hectares.

APY Lands Police advise the fire has been burning for five days and has crossed the border into the NT.

There is no threat to the Ernabella Community.

The fire is being fought by local crews with assistance of crews from Roxby Downs, Coober Pedy, Mimili, Amata, and Ernabella.  

Additional Country Fire Service crews from Port Augusta are relieving local crews.

Tourists and service providers are requested to avoid travelling on the Victory Downs Road and Mulga Park Road.

This road travels from the Stuart Highway along the NT border through the Victory Downs and Mulga Park cattle stations, past Mount Conner to the Lasseter Highway and Yulara.
