KEITH residents are being asked to put their hands up this Friday, and bid big at the Monster Charity Auction.
Held in the Keith Hotel Motel beer garden from 7pm, the event raises funds for frontotemporal dementia research. It was organised by local farmers Steve and Jenny Berry after Steve was diagnosed with the disorder, with the goal to help find a cure and support carers.
The auction is one of several fundraisers, including a planned gin and tonic stand at the Keith Diesel and Dirt Derby next month, with the idea coming from some of Steve’s interests.
“He loves a clearing sale and an auction,” she said.
Jenny said the local community had been very supportive, with sale items including SA food hampers, a White Suffolk ram, a family photography shoot and even experiences such as a jetboat ride or Barossa Valley tour.
Guest speakers include international award-winning photographer Jacqui Bateman, Furner, and Pernod Ricard Winemakers’ James Keane.
