Data management and genetic modification have been pinpointed as two big issues in agriculture’s future, by the upcoming generation.
The University of Adelaide’s Agricultural Students Association is building on the success of their 2016 Growing the Future event, by hosting a second, bigger, event at Adelaide Oval on August 10.
Association vice president Megan Willis said the evening was designed to bring young farmers, along with university and high school agricultural students, together with industry.
“We’re trying to close the gap between graduates and industry,” she said.
The program includes networking opportunities as well as panel discussions on topical issues such as data management, future challenges and GM.
“We picking fairly pressing issues that affect the future of ag,” she said.
Ticket sales close midnight tonight, at $41 for all students and those under 21, and $112 for adults.
