Enthusiasm among commercial Merino breeders at the South East Merino Field Day this week was sky-high with fantastic wool and meat prices as well as puddles of water in the car park.
Twenty four SE, Mallee and Yorke Peninsula studs held displays at the Keith Showgrounds, using the field day to showcase their profitable dual-purpose genetics ahead of their on-property sales or private selections.
Moorundie at Keith also had a steady flow of visitors for its on-property display but Andoma, Mundulla, was a last-minute cancellation after 26 millimetres of rain the previous day fell on its paddock-run rams.
