Crossbred lambs to $215
Merinos to $172
THERE were 4906 lambs and 1873 mutton yarded at Ouyen, Vic, on Thursday last week, with lambs $5 to $8 dearer and mutton prices up $10.
Export crossbred lambs made $160-$215 or $6.10-$6.60/kg, trades from $110-$169 or $6.20-$6.80/kg and stores $112-$126 or $7-$7.20/kg.
Topping the market was J&P Heaslip, Ouyen, Vic, with 49 crossbreds at $215 and coming a close second was N&R Monaghan, Tempy, Vic, with 61 at $214.
Heavy Merinos made $144-$172 or $6-$6.40/kg and light types from $96-$142 or $6.30-$6.60/kg.
SA Merino lamb vendors included BJ&MK Young, Lameroo, 82 at $172, McNeil Bros, Marama, 54 at $162 and TV Gilbertson, Parilla, 55 at $160.
Selling Merinos were Beelitz Family Trust, Parrakie, 24 at $166.
Looking at mutton, light types made $96-$125 or $5.40-$5.60/kg and heavies $135-$203 or $5.40-$5.60/kg.
Selling Dorper lambs were WMD&SM Small, Geranium, 34 at $172 and 28 at $162.
M&C Heintze Murrayville, Vic, sold 58 mutton at $162.
