Wethers to $125
Ewes to $209
ON-GOING confidence in the sheep and lamb job was obvious at the Jamestown store sale on Thursday, May 18, with all classes firm to dearer.
Elders territory sales manager Scott Fleetwood said buyers came mainly from local areas, as well as Ouyen, Vic, Adelaide plains and the Upper South East.
“With the feed that’s still about and the amount of grain people have still got, there’s a lot of confidence in buying sheep at the moment,” he said.
Landmark Jamestown agent Shannon Jaeschke said the lamb job was firm to strong.
“Merino-Dohne and SAMM ewes sold very strongly, but they were better quality than what we’d seen at the last couple of markets,” he said.
“The market was pushed along by the confidence in the lamb job and the earlier rains in local areas.”
