Peter Peach will offer 100 Angus mixed sex weaners.
The family has used Toora West and Weeran bloodlines since they started farming at Comly Banks, Byaduck, about 13 years ago.
Mr Peach said they’d continued to buy bulls from these studs as they had “…a bit of height and stretch” and they’d performed well.
They are also very quiet and this good temperament is enhanced by feeding them often.
Most of the calves were born in February and March, although some out of purchased cows were a little bit later. They’re running 270 cows.
“They in sync now and I usually like to keep joining to eight weeks,” Mr Peach said.
The calves have all been drenched and given 5-in-1, B12 and Multimin.
At the time of print, the calves have been weaned three weeks.
Buyers have returned to buy their heifers and then sell them PTIC. Last year, the top pen of Comly Bank steers av 432kg lwt and Mr Peach thinks they’ll be around 400kg at least this year.
