INTERNATIONAL investors are touring the South East this week in a government-led initiative to see the potential opportunities.
Nine business migration clients are taking part in the Immigration SA tour to look at food and tourism investment options on the Limestone Coast.
Investment and Trade Minister Martin Hamilton-Smith said the group of investors from China, Malaysia and Taiwan would investigate identified tourism accommodation, agriculture and seafood industry opportunities in the region.
Immigration SA has worked closely with the South Australian Tourism Commission and Regional Development Australia to identify opportunities in the region.
“SA has a strategic approach to increasing its engagement with high net worth business migrants, who play an important part in our economy,” Mr Hamilton-Smith said.
“This week’s program includes tourism accommodation and property development opportunities in the Coonawarra, Robe and Mount Gambier.
“The group will also be looking at large-scale mixed use farming operations, seafood export and livestock landholdings in the region.”
The group involved was identified by Immigration SA as already having invested in real estate or agricultural assets in SA and have expressed interest in further opportunities in the state.
