LAMBS were firm to $10 dearer at the Ouyen Livestock Exchange, Vic, sheep sale yesterday, with two additional buyers present from the previous sale.
Overall, 9319 lambs and 597 mutton were offered, totalling 9916.
Crossbred lambs sold to $305 for 239 head from MG Lynch, Morkalla, Vic, who also sold 70 at $295 and 164 at $285.
D&J Goldsmith, Yarrara, Vic, sold 64 crossbred lambs at $298, as did Cureton Pastoral, Mildura, Vic, with 65 head.
Export lambs sold from $230 to $305 a head or $7.70 a kilogram to $8.30/kg; trades made $170-$230 ($8.30-$9.50/kg); while stores types attracted $60-$184 ($8.50-$9.80/kg).
Monaghan Unit Trust, Tempy, Vic, also sold 108 crossbred lambs at $295, while W Schultz, Mittyack, Vic, sold 24 at $290.
BJ&MJ Young, Lameroo, sold 71 crossbred lambs at $289, N&R Monaghan, Tempy, sold 51 at $279.
Heavy Merinos sold from $205-$244 ($7.80-$8.40/kg), while lighter Merinos made $107-$200 ($8.20-$9/kg).
G Sutton, Gol Gol, NSW, sold the top 29 Merino lambs at $244, while A Beelitz Family Trust, Parrakie, sold 34 at $241.
J&L Pryse, Torrita, Vic, sold 49 Merino lambs at $236, while MG Lynch sold 157 at $235.
Heavy mutton made $173-$259, while lighter mutton made $68-$164.
GMRJ Nominees, Meribah, sold 52 mutton at $259, while A&N Hulland, Patchewollock, sold 55 at $232 and 48 crossbred lambs at $277.
The next Ouyen sale is scheduled for Thursday, June 25.
