CROSSBRED lambs sold to $280 a head at the Ouyen Livestock Exchange in Vic on Thursday, in a sale where prices held firm and the usual contingent of buyers were present.
Overall, 7994 lambs and 897 mutton, totalling 8891 head were offered.
Export lambs sold from $216 to $280, or $7.50 a kilograms to $8.20/kg, trade types made $169-$230 ($7.90-$9.50/kg) and store lambs received $140-$170 ($8.10-$9.30/kg).
T&S Monaghan, Tempy, Vic, sold the top pen of 40 head, while G&L Bate, Mildura, Vic, received $269 for 90 crossbred lambs.
Brown Farms, Underbool, Vic, sold 107 crossbred lambs at $266, while MF&RA Kelly, Werrimull, Vic, sold 61 at $256.
Hulland Holdings, Patchewollock, Vic, sold 175 crossbred lambs at $262, and a second pen of 55 at $246, while Kulwin Ag, Kulwin, Vic, sold 71 crossbred lambs at $255.
Heavy Merinos sold from $190-$245 ($7.80-$840/kg), while lightweights made $152-$182 ($8-$8.60/kg).
B&C O'Callaghan, Ouyen, sold 85 Merino lambs at $245, while Lynch Ag, Underbool, sold 77 at $235 and another pen of 30 at $226.
GZ Izard, Merbein, Vic, sold 53 Merino lambs at $225, while J Shaddock, Ouyen, sold 65 at $220.
Heavy mutton made $177-$250 ($6.40-$7.50/kg), while lighter types received $126-$175 ($6.50-$7.50/kg).
Munro Bros, Ouyen, sold 257 mutton at $250, while P Weir, Ouyen, sold 115 at $248.
N Rowney, Gama, Vic, sold 128 mutton at $230, while McPiggery, Parilla, sold 37 at $205.
Dorper lambs were also sold, with Kenarka Farms, Karoonda, making $214 for 80 head, while VP Belkman, Murrayville, Vic, sold 69 at $212.
The next sale at Ouyen is scheduled for Thursday, April 30.
