Aspiring young SA auctioneers are being urged to jump up on the rail next month at Naracoorte and show their livestock selling skills.
The state Australian Livestock & Property Agents Association Young Auctioneers competition will be held the Naracoorte Regional Livestock Exchange on Tuesday, July 2.
It is open to agents 25 years or under employed by an ALPA member.
Entrants will be required to sell three pens of cattle each at the Tuesday prime cattle sale and be judged on their voice, values, diction and manner/presentation.
Both the winner and runner-up will progress to the national finals at the 2020 Sydney Royal Easter Show.
"Anyone can jump up and have a go regardless of their experience," ALPA southern regional manager Liz Summerville said.
"It is a good way for them to bolster their confidence and get their name out there and also the agency business they are working for."
A Young auctioneers school, open to all agents, will be held on July 1 with the program covering good agency practices, livestock auction terms and conditions, animal welfare, public speaking, voice conservation and care.
Registrations close on June 17.
