ALL lamb types were firm at the Ouyen Livestock Exchange on Thursday, March 22.
There were 5396 lambs and 1791 mutton sold for a total yarding of 7187.
There was an increase in mutton numbers, but prices were firm to $2 dearer. Heavy types made $108 to $132 or $3.80 a kilogram to $4.20/kg.
Making the highest price for mutton was K&A Hayter, Underbool, Vic, with 79 at $140.
Both making $132 for their mutton were DJ Kay, Ouyen, with 57, and ALB Farms, Tempy, Vic, with 45.
Export crossbred lambs made from $165-$207 or $5.60-$5.80/kg and trade types from $120-$166 or $5.70-$6.20/kg.
Topping the market was regular vendor Geoff Vine, Ouyen, with 50 crossbreds at $207. The same vendor also sold a further 34 crossbreds at $204.
SA crossbred lamb vendors included D Dutschke, Karoonda, with 26 at $191, and Charmic Ag, Loxton, with 43 at $168 and 169 at $160.
Other crossbred lamb sellers were K&A Hayter, 61 at $183, Clarke Bros, Ouyen, 87 at $180, D&J Jonasson, Cowangie, Vic, 39 @ $179, L Munro, Ouyen, 30 at $176, Daalkolyn, Underbool, 115 at $172 and R Bennett, Karawinna, Vic, 81 at $170.
Light Merinos sold from $35-$115 or $5.60-$5.70/kg and heavies from $137-$189, averaging $5.70/kg.
D Dutschke, Karoonda, made the highest price for Merino lambs with 67 at $189.
Dorper lamb sellers included T& M Crozier, Wargan, Vic, 30 at $147, W Small, Lameroo, 49 at $141 and Mallee Livestock Services, Curlwaa, NSW, 26 at $133.
