THERE were 6240 lambs and 633 mutton sold at Ouyen, Vic, on Thursday, February 8, for a total yarding of 6873.
There was a good quality yarding of heavy lambs at the market, which were $10-$15 easier.
Light lambs were back in quality and slightly cheaper.
Mutton held firm from the previous sale.
Export crossbred lambs made from $150 to $187 or $5.40 a kilogram to $6.10/kg, trade types from $105-$166 or $5.40-$6.20/kg and stores $35-$ 90.
Light Merinos made $45-$ 90 or $5-$5.40/kg and heavies $136-$170 or $5-$5.20/kg.
With mutton, light types made $15-$ 86, averaging $4/kg, and heavy $88-$120, av $3.50/kg.
Topping the market was A McLean, Patchewollock, Vic, with 22 crossbreds at $187.
SA crossbred lamb vendors included LR Pollard, Lameroo, 31 at $186, and D&L Traeger, Parilla, 32 at $177.
Vic crossbred vendors inlcuded HJ&ME Crane, Murrayville, 41 at $185, Hannig/Ferguson, Walpeup, 81 at $180, ALB Farming, Tempy, 66 at $180, H&P Ferguson, Walpeup, 90 at $179 and GW Pickering, Kulwin, 39 at $178.
Other Vic crossbred sellers were D&J Jonasson, Cowangie, 37 at $185, Marshall Partners, Ouyen, 37 at $179, Downdale, Speed, 38 at $175 and G Munro, Ouyen, 26 at $174.
W&S Stirrat, Curlwaa, NSW, had 30 crossbreds at $181
Selling Dorpers was D Dutschke, Karoonda, with 50 at $170.
W&K Harmer, Meringur, Vic, sold 47 Dorper lambs at $150, while Cowra Station, via Yelta, Vic, had 46 at $143.
Merino lambs sellers were B&M Mudie, Pinnaroo, 34 at $155 and EJ&PS Byrnes, Mildura, Vic, 146 at $150.
B&B Etherton, Cowangie, had 73 mutton at $140.
Andy Beelitz, Lameroo, sold 63 Merinos at $156.
