DAIRYFARMERS are being urged to have input into the future of the industry with a farmer meeting held in the South East this Friday.
SA Dairyfarmers’ Association president John Hunt said the development of an SA Dairy Action Plan was a chance for farmers from throughout the state to give their thoughts on where they want the SA dairy sector to go.
“A lot of people say ‘what influence can we have’ and this is that chance,” he said.
“We can have an idea of what people would like to see and what they don’t want to see.”
The meeting with include a presentation of the draft plan, which would become the industry-wide blue print for the future direction of the sector.
Mr Hunt said this was a chance for all those involved in the industry to engage and provide their feedback into where dairy in SA could head.
The meeting will be held at 11.45am at the Blue Lake Golf Club, Mount Gambier, with a light lunch provided.
Mr Hunt said this would be the first event in a series across SA dairy communities.
